After spending a week in crowded, hectic London working, doing yoga, eating delicious healthy takeout food and checking out comedian Russel Brand's stand-up special, we decided to take a long weekend in Brighton, the royal seaside resort town on the south coast of Britain.
After spending a weekend in Luxembourg, we were ready to escape the dreary cold and head to the surprisingly warm and sunny weather in London for a 5-day business trip. Since our trip included a weekend stay, we took time to be tourists in London and hit a few new spots we hadn't seen before.
For our first family visit since moving to Lux, we joined up with Cindy, Shawn and Avery for a nine-day tour from northern Italy to its southern shores.
We decided to spend the weekend in Brussels, Belgium which is known as the land of blonde beer, chocolate, waffles and fries. We drove for about two hours early Saturday morning to Brussels, passing through rolling hills and vast fields and farmlands into the capital city, where we immediately noticed huge parks with lakes, people exercising and lounging outside despite the cold weather and a plethora of waffle food trucks.
We woke up at 5am to catch the sunrise flight to London's city airport. We hopped on a 50 seater prop plane for the one-hour flight across the pond. Upon arriving, the British customs agent became visibly upset while reviewing our passports. "Luxembourg is THE most boring country in the world with THE most boring people in the world," he seethed.
